Description
Alara Han, one of the most significant historical structures left by the Anatolian Seljuk State in Alanya, is a masterpiece built between 1231 and 1232. Located between Antalya and Alanya, just 800 meters from another important Seljuk-era structure, Alara Castle, Alara Han was strategically positioned along trade routes and is the largest caravanserai in the region.
Designed with cut stones over a large area of 2000 square meters, Alara Han has remained well-preserved to this day. Visitors can explore the mosque, fountain, bathhouse, shops, and accommodation rooms inside. Be sure to see its impressive inscription, and take a journey through history among Alara Han’s unique rock-carved wall decorations, massive corridors, and courtyards. Alara Han, a must-visit site on Alanya’s history and culture tours, is easily accessible by minibus, allowing you to explore it on your own.
